The Holy Forever God✍️

God is holy, meaning He has no mistakes, He has no sin. God is perfect. Even the smallest sin you can think of is unacceptable to God.

Many use the word "just/only" to minimize their sin.

"I ONLY took ten pesos from my Mom's purse." 

"I'm not having an extramarital affair so stop nagging me. Watching TV, and my cell phone are JUST my past time," says a husband. 

"I am not cursing God. OMG is ONLY my expression!"

"I'm not a liar. That's JUST white lies." 

"It's ONLY a piece of bond paper I brought home from the office, or I printed JUST one page of my son's project at the office." 

"I ONLY borrowed an old pencil from my classmate, which I never returned."

"I ONLY owe twenty pesos."

And many other offenses that are "only or just."

Imagine going to court for your wrongdoing and saying, "Judge, I just took raw mangoes from the neighbor's tree in their yard. Will the judge answer you, "ah, okay. It is just a small matter that you did, so it's fine, I will let you go." If that is the type of judge we have, he lacks integrity and is unreliable. His authority will be compromised because he frees everyone with a minor offense, despite being found guilty of breaking both moral and legal laws. Isn't it frightening to think that there are people near you who may have been prosecuted by the police but can still move freely since their offense is minor, thus the court dropped their case?

A truly good judge is not biased. No matter how little a sin may be, it is still a crime, a sin of offense, evil, and ought to be punished. And that is how holy God is. He shows no regard for anyone. He will not tolerate even the slightest sin. And you must be aware of that. Now that you know how holy God is, what is that to you? 

Okay, so just the other day, you were irritated with your spouse. You cursed and yelled. Yesterday, you avoided your officemate because you still could not forgive them. Last night, you chose to stay with your friends rather than return home early to spend time with your family. You prefer to play online games instead of studying for your exams. Every day, we do things that grieves the Holy God. If we consistently sin, do we still have the right to remain in the world that Holy God created? Of course not. We deserve to be punished. 

As we were talking about our sinfulness, where are you at this point? Here you are,  breathing the gift of oxygen given to you by the Holy God. You still have a job, and you are physically strong. You are blessed by the Holy God with family and friends to support you throughout life. You are still under the Holy God's protection and provision. The Holy God brings you back to your family alive after you leave the house to go to work or run errands. He is guarding your coming in and going out. So despite our sinfulness, we still enjoy God's goodness in everything.

All that sustains us from the moment we are born to the end of our lives is God's GRACE.  Whether we want to admit it or not, the only reason we are here today is because of God's favor; we have nothing to be proud of. We are still here and prospering, and it is all due to God's goodness. Thank the Lord. This is something you need to really be aware of. God's grace is what's making the world go round🫰

Hail to the Holy God, sitting on His throne, clothed in majesty. We praise you for Your holiness, Lord God!

Ang Mga Sugat ni Hesus ✍️

How many lashes did Jesus incur? Hindi nabanggit sa Bibliya specifically kung ilan ang natanggap na palo o hampas ni Hesus. Gayunpaman sa Deuteronomy 25:3 at 2 Corinthians 11:24 ay nakasaad na 39 na hampas ang ibinibigay sa isang nahatulan, na dinaragdagan ng isa pang palo (39+1) ng mga Romanong sundalo upang masiguro na ang kinakailangang 40 lashes pa rin ang kanilang nagawa  kung sakali mang may nagmintis o sumablay silang palo/hampas. Ngunit kung isipin, ang flagrum or latigo na ginamit kay Hesus ay may tatlo nang metal sa dulo. Samakatwid, ang bawat isang hampas kay Hesus ay katumbas na ng times 3 na sugat sa Kanyang katawan (39 x 3 =117 stripes?!😳 -conservative estimate at talagang labis na bilang na yan ng sugat. Ang Patibulum ni Hesus (Lenten Season)✍️

May mga pag-aaral na nagsasabing ang binuhat ni Hesus mula sa palasyo ni Pilato ay hindi talagang krus kundi isang pahalang na putol ng kahoy o troso na kung tawagin ay "patibulum."  At ito ay kinuha mula sa isang matibay na bahagi ng puno na tinatawag naman na stipes. Please note na ang tinutukoy ay ang binuhat ni Hesus na kahoy at hindi ang pinagpakuan sa Kanya.  Ang patibulum ay katulad sa isang railroad ties o yaong mga hugis-parihaba na suporta para sa mga daang-bakal ng riles ng tren. At karaniwan itong may bigat na nasa pagitan ng 75-125pounds o 34-57kg, katumbas ng isang sako ng bigas.
