Wisdom in Height.

Time flies so fast! My cutie little boy is now a young adolescent (whew!). Based on my husband's average height and my short 4'11 height, I am already grateful to God that my 11-year-old son is now slightly taller than me. 

Does height matter at all? 
Some say that the taller you are, the more that you are attractive. This viewpoint is somewhat accurate, especially when it comes to women's choice of a boyfriend or husband-to-be. It makes sense why this is one of my sister's consistent requirements for a better-half. Fortunately, she got what she wants.

Is height really important? 
Personally, I dont think it is. 
I observe physically tall individuals who aren't behaving in accordance with their concrete statues. They're big and tall, but they live their lives in a very immature way. They quickly lose their temper over little issues; they're oversensitive, like a small boy seeking attention and affection rather than extending patience and understanding. They lack maturity in their thinking and reasoning. And their emotional and spiritual aspects are similar to those of a spoon-fed child, which contradicts their physically fit appearance. Their decision-making is shallow and limited. They make careless choices and insist on doing wrong even when they know what is right. Have you heard about battered women in the news? Some tall men with big strong abs and muscles beat their wives, abuse their children ("binabatuk-batukan lang mga bata"), or exploit the weaknesses of others (acting siga-siga sa lugar). They prefer to be served rather than attend to the needs of others. 

I'm thinking about "what-ifs." What if an increase in height automatically results in an increase in maturity in a person's attitude and outlook on life? - that as they grow taller and bigger, they become more receptive to criticisms and accepting of their flaws and being accountable for their sins? 

Being tall is nice if it is used N0T for self gain but for God's purpose. Say that you're a star player because you're tall, try to teach young ones who want to be basketball players; be a volunteer, offer your services for free to train these kids; inspire and motivate them. There are numerous ways to use our good attributes in the service of men for the glory of God. 

And if you are blessed by God with height, learn to bend down and reach out; be humble. Pathetically, some people, despite having a stunning physique and reaching old age, still know nothing about the essentials and eternal matters in life. And instead of seeking the truth with zeal, they simply let each of their remaining days pass without knowing why they exist. 

Again, Is height really important?

To the world...yes! 

But to God... N0!

God is more interested in a person's 
"HE❤RT" 
rather than the "height." 

Glory to God, the source of all wisdom😇

A Sinner and a Saint✍️

In our Values Education or Christian Living class during my time in a Catholic school in elementary and high school, we discussed saints such as Madre Ignacia Del Espiritu, St. Rose of Lima, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Augustine, Pedro Calungsod, San Lorenzo Ruiz, and many others. They are declared saints based on religious "holiness" criteria. These martyrs fulfilled the requirements set down by the Church to be recognized as such, a process known as canonization, so they were officially granted the title of saint.
