Yes Equals No...No Equals Yes (Matthew 21:28-30) ✍️

Words are not as effective as actions. Never assume that a 'yes' is synonymous with the truth. When someone says "yes," it does not always mean "absolutely yes."

Matthew 21:28–30 talks about two kinds of sons. The first said 'no' to working in the vineyard as his father had ordered, but did so in the end. He ultimately decided to comply with his father's request. The youngest, on the other hand, did not obey despite saying straight to his father, "I will go (work in the vineyard)."

People typically respond favorably to us in life. Though it is difficult to believe and have expectations because not all flattering claims are 100% sincere in the true sense, we do appreciate their kind words, like "yeah," "alright," "of course," "sure," and "by all means." We appreciate their positive responses, which is what we actually want to hear from them. Sadly, some people make commitments they don't intend to keep, but just in an effort to please or impress others, they say "yes." Their affirmative response was merely a burst from the mouth...they weren't made from the he❤️rt.  And in Jesus' parable, the youngest son, who had a cunning mouth yet lied and tricked his father, stands in for people like these. Be cautious, for there are many of them in our world. On the other hand, we resent those who say 'no' to us. We are irritated since they did not give us the favor or deny our offer, and so we ignore them. We treat them as if we don't know them. But who knows if they are trustworthy, honest, loyal, and dependable? Remember the first son in the parable who initially said 'no' but later obeyed? Hence, if people say 'no' to us, or turn us down, or disappoint us, we should not be easily angered and too quick to draw conclusions and condemn them. Things aren't always what they seem. It is not fair to judge based on just what we see and hear because there are actually a lot of people doing good work silently behind the scenes. So let us be discerning.

🧠Wisdom in a Flash!

* Words without action are meaningless.

* Put your words into action/ Practice what you preach.

* Follow through on your words/ Walk the talk.

* If you say 'yes,' mean it and do it!

* If you really mean 'no, be honest and say so!

* Do not say any lies or act like an actor on stage.

* Action is more powerful than words.

* Just as faith without works is dead (James 2:26), so are words without action are lifeless.

* Be few in your words but rich in actions.

God be praised, the Giver of Wisdom🙏
