The Battle Belongs☝️
"Wala ka sigurong kaaway kasi tahimik ka eh, sa bahay ka lang, di ka naman lumalabas." an acquaintance asked.
"Meron," I replied, and she was surprised by my bold declaration.
Meron bang tao na walang kaaway o kagalit? In my mind.
Those labeled as "war freaks" or "conflict enthusiasts" are likely to experience hatred and foes. However, being kind, polite, and quiet does not ensure acceptance. Let's face it: no matter how good we are, not everyone will like us.
In this imperfect world, things are not exactly as they seem. Some may be grinning at you, but behind you, they attack, saying bad things about you. Even if you try to please them, you can't still gain their affection and attention. And nope, you did nothing wrong with them, they just don't like you. And some of the reasons could be:
1. Due to a bad influence.
If a person who does not personally know you is upset with you, it could be because of someone (an acquaintance) who defamed you and made them hate you. If a friend or family member suddenly has an unreasonable dislike for you, it might be because they were encouraged to also hate you by a family member or friend who is mad at you.
2. Their feelings against you stem from envy or jealousy.
Jesus is the most kind, understanding, forgiving, and compassionate man ever. He is perfect. He descended to Earth to serve His creations. He healed the sick, freed the demon-possessed, resurrected the dead to life, fed the hungry, and performed other miracles in favor of His people. And since Jesus did everything for the sake of mankind, everyone should be okay with Him. But, as we all know, not everyone is pleased with Jesus. People still hated him despite his pious purpose, which benefited everyone. And His haters, the Sadducees, and the Pharisees (and other Jewish people), abhor Him because they felt their authority as leaders being threatened as they witnessed people from all walks of life seeking healing from Jesus, hearing His teachings, and following HIM. This now bred their envy, jealousy, and contempt towards Jesus, which eventually led to their wicked plot to kill Him. (...ang pagkainggit ay tulad ng kanser sa buto." - Proverbs 14:30).
Jesus faced betrayal and rejection in exchange for His tender mercies and loving care for humanity. He was sold for forty pieces of silver by a man close to Him. Even though Judas betrayed Jesus, remember that Jesus loved him as He chose him to be one of His disciples and join His earthly mission. This situation illustrates how anybody can be an enemy, including intimate friends and family/relatives. Certain opponents are obvious, while others are masked. In either case, the idea is that all of us have adversaries, whether physical or spiritual, visible or invisible, veiled or exposed.
If the all-good Jesus has an enemy, what more are we? How can we not have adversaries when we are so full of ourselves while lacking love for others, impatient, and proud?
We all have Sadducees, Pharisees, and Judas in our lives. Or we could be these kinds to others. Because the truth is, we all face opposition that we have to fight and battles that we have to win. However, it is not by physical means that we wage war, "for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.'-Ephesians 6:12.
So how are we going to defeat our oppositions? It is via spiritual warfare, specifically through prayer and fasting. To achieve victory over our battles, we must fight on our knees, with our hands lifted high for The LORD says: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army, for the battle does not belong to you BUT TO GOD.'" -Chronicles 20:15
And with that, I say....Amen and amen! Thank you, Lord God for the victory!🙏🫰
