The 3W's : Word of God, Weekly, Why? ✍️

I went out on a date with a female friend recently. It's my lunch treat, which she gratefully accepted.

"Ang sipag mo magpadala ng weekly devotion noh?" As she was eating, she asked. "Bakit?"

I was curious as to what she meant by her question "Bakit?" Was she asking about my intentions for sending a weekly spiritual message? Or perhaps she wasn't aware of the role of God's word in her life and was perplexed as to what the godly message was for.

God created humans with both physical and spiritual aspects. We're used to feeding our bodies three or more times a day, but our spirits are starving and empty. We fill our mortal bodies with food and drinks to stay fit and healthy, but we neglect to nourish the part of us that never dies—our souls and spirits. So, why do I send godly  messages weekly? That is food for your soul, Friend, to boost your spirit. (Reason#1)

Some people understand the significance of godly messages and/or devotion. They take it seriously when sent to them because they believe it is God's way of communicating with them about their current circumstances or the issues they are praying about. Godly messages inspire or push individuals to move forward in life or reveal God's plans for them (which is why I am devoted to delivering God's word to people weekly-Reason#2).

When I get a reply like, "Sis, thanks for the message; it's exactly what I need; a very timely message; thank you," I give praise to God. See, I have no idea what you're going through in life, and we aren't together 24 hours a day, so the one speaking to you through that godly message is the Omniscient God, who knows everything about us.

Similarly, if God's word about sin hits you hard, don't take it personally and restrict or block me on your account or quit the group chat. Let us not be reactive. Again, I know nothing about your life and have no intention of offending you. God sent you the message, and I'm merely His vessel to reach you. Hence, instead of reacting negatively, learn from it and grow from it.

And when you receive a godly message, please don't take it lightly or dismiss it. You received that divine text at the perfect time because God wants to show you that He knows exactly what you need and is thinking of you.

Those who can discern God's voice are also an inspiration to me. They're my motivation to keep doing what I'm doing. They are God's means of reassuring me that I am on the right track.
Reality check, God's word works in both directions, benefiting both the sender (me) and the receiver (Reason#3).

My cousin uses the spiritual messages I send him as a topic for his Bible study group that week. While others forward them to their family, friends, relatives, co-workers and anyone else, and some make them their social media posts and reels. Spiritually awakened people recognize the essence of God's message in their lives and, knowing its core, don't just keep God's word to themselves but pass it around to spread God's blessing and the good news of God's love. Before we realize it, we are already performing our God-given mission of sharing the gospel with as many people as possible. We can do so much to illuminate this darkened world by sharing the word of God at the tip of our fingers. Salamat sa Diyos, hi-tech na tayo.

I'm just sad that some people take a month or more before they read the godly devotion I sent them, and some don't read at all for almost a year.  Others restricted my access or, worse, blocked/deleted me from their accounts. Why kaya? Is it because they're irritated with the Godly message I provide them every week? I don't mean to be critical. Besides, it is the recipient's right to decide what to do with the message (and with me😁. I'm just concerned that they are unaware of what they're missing. I feel sorry for them. Imagine they have a diamond in front of them but don't recognize it because they don't know how much it's worth😔

Admittedly, there was a time when I criticized people who ignored the godly message and left it unread for an extended period of time. But four friends (Sis. Nora Kondo, Sis. Fe Arco, Tita Cora, and Sis. Claire Gibbs) have taught me an invaluable lesson on not passing judgment. The four of them at different times hadn't read my godly messages for over a month. So I was becoming a pessimist, thinking of the "what-ifs," and deciding to apply the "cancel" mode to them, only to discover that they were all ill and had died😢  So I now learn to first look at the Facebook pages of my friends for those who haven't read the godly messages for almost a month. However, if I find them updated on Facebook posts, can I assume that they just do not desire God's Word? Please note that when I send spiritual messages, I am not promoting or exalting myself, but the word of God, the God who created you and me. Thus, when we refuse to read the godly messages that have been passed down to us, we are rejecting the God who created us, not the sender, not me. I pray that God will grant us all a hunger for His word, which is necessary for life eternal.

Furthermore, unlike physical food, which causes disease when abused, no one overfeeds or overdoses on God's word as soul food. Thus, it is highly advised to take and take and take it.

Knowing that a meal is healthy for your body, you know what to do with it, you eat it, chew it, and digest it. In the same way, you grind, process, and analyze God's word/devotion with your heart and mind. You absorb it to strengthen your soul, and ponder on it to fuel your spirit.

Please read the Bible🙏
