Look up! Lift up! (Isaiah 37:14)

It was the year 2016 when hubby's offshore company went bankrupt and their ships were being sold. Compelled to lay off workers, Hubby was on the list. But, thank God, my husband is not picky about job hunting; he applied to PLDT as a lineman (Just an income to pay the bills). And despite being overqualified, he was hired right away.

Php14,000/month is hubby's basic salary in PLDT and is insufficient to cover our necessities. I still had to withdraw money from our savings, which I regularly did for almost a year until only $1,000 remained in our bank account. The dollar exchange rate then was 40+ pesos per dollar, so we only had 40,000 pesos in cash. Plus, the fact that we have kids who are studying added to the strain on our already tight budget.

Why am I saying this?

In my quiet time today, I am reading Isaiah 37. In this passage, King Hezekiah receives a letter of threat from the King of Assyria, and what he does is go to the house of the Lord and spread the enemy's letter before the Lord. And, know what? That is what I did, too. I saw our account balance was only $1,000, so I went upstairs to our room, closed the door behind me, and knelt before God with tears welling up in my eyes and my hands up holding the bankbook, I was showing it to God and said, "Lord God, this is the only money we have." I'm not sure when you'll let Chris return to his job. I pray soon, but if not yet, just take care of us, God.

Read Isaiah 37, and the way God answered the prayer of Hezekiah with a "yes," denoting  "I will help you,"
is how He answered mine—a "yes" too—the answer that I badly wanted and needed at a time of hopelessness. I can imagine God telling me, "Yes, Lia, I will give you your heart's desire." And the night that day of "lifting the bankbook prayer," an agency emailed Chris. Another offshore firm was looking for a seismic tech, and they were eyeing my husband as the candidate for the position. And here's the deal, friend: there's no more interview, no more exams; they just check the validity of his documents, like the passport, the health card, and the training certificates, if they haven't expired yet. And so, when it was confirmed that all his papers were still valid and his requirements were complete, lo and behold, he was made to report immediately to the agency here in the Philippines and was given the flight schedule at once (and this blessing continues until now with the mercy and grace of our Lord).

And the rest, as they say, is history...HIS ST0RY☝ of goodness and faithfulness. When God really moves, you'll be amazed! In effect, you will be driven to say, "Praise the Lord!🙂

So, my friend, if you find yourself in a desperate situation, follow what Hezekiah and I did. Do you have an unpaid meralco or water bill but you have no money to pay? Raise it to the Lord. Do you have a bank account that is empty? Bring it before the Lord. Do you owe a lot of money that you are unable to settle? Lift up your list before the Lord(Just make sure it doesn't happen again, don't abuse God's kindness)🙂 Offer ALL of your demands to Him☝ If you need to write down all of your concerns on paper, do so and lay it before HIM in a private room, Lift everything to HIM☝ And be assured that what God did to Hezekiah and me, He will do to you too👉 With your faith and trust in Him, God will surely see you through❤ Believe🙏

Friends, please make it a habit to read your Bibles everyday. Don't leave this earth without reading the Book of God's Word!✌🙂
