The Goodness of God ✍
Do you have health problems? Have you lost your job or recently lost a loved one? Does everything in your life seem to be going wrong? Your husband left you, and your family is falling apart? Having gone bankrupt or lost your business? Your family, friends, and other people band together to oppose you. Are you becoming the focus of much animosity? Being subjected to unfairness, rejection, or oppression? Having experienced a disaster (fire, landslide, flood, storm, etc.) that left you devastated? Have you been duped or scammed?
If you are currently experiencing these or any of these have occured in your life, you may be wondering if God is truly all that good. You'd think that if HE is, these unfortunate events should not happen to you. But why does it appear that your life is a series of misfortunes, as if God has abandoned you? You can't thank HIM because you're walking on rocky ground. Allow me to encourage you with a Bible verse from Romans 8:32.
What else could God the Father possibly withhold from us for our benefit if He has already given us Jesus, His one and only Son, to suffer for us? See how our good Heavenly Father allowed His beloved Son to endure 40 whiplashes and have His body crushed by the severity of the beatings that led to his death on the cross for your and my sakes. It is therefore impossible for God to reject or deprive us of the comforts of life that we desire. There is nothing else He would not do for us.
The truth is that painful circumstances do not come from God. Our miseries are the byproducts or consequences of our own mistakes or wrongdoings. However, let me assure you that God does not wish to see you in distress. You better believe that His heart also breaks when He sees you crying and in pain.
Realize this, after you cried so hard, when all you can hear are sobs, your voice is hoarse from weeping all day long, and you have run out of tears, but you feel your heart beating and you feel peace—that is a demonstration of God's goodness. You are faced with all kinds of challenges, mental, emotional, and physical, but you get up every day and fight through them—that is God's goodness. When you felt like it was "only you" against the world and that luck eluded you, the fact that you're still breathing and surviving is proof of God's goodness.
Think about your blessings rather than your burdens. Keep going, whatever you're going through right now! Trust that God is good because He is. Our Godhead, comprised of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, loves you, lives in you, and has never left you. Not for a moment did He forsake you. Indeed, God is good...all the time!🙂
