CR0SS✝️ MY HE❤RT
When we arrived in this world, we had nothing and knew nothing (1 Timothy 6:7). We have no idea how to eat, sit, talk, or walk. We are completely reliant on others for survival. But, with the help of our families, who patiently taught us everything we needed, we were eventually able to learn these life-supporting skills.
We have nothing unless someone gives us something. Who, once again, introduced us to love? Yes, it was our family, so we knew how to love, express it in our own unique ways, recognize it, and share it with others. Our parents received such love from their fathers and mothers, as did our grandparents from their parents. So love is passed down from generation to generation, and we owe it to our children and grandchildren to do the same by setting a good example of the right kind of love.
Yet how many of us are eager to understand this powerful emotion known as "love" in a way that goes beyond the physical? The idea of love that prevails today is bland at its core and shallow. We used to think of love as just an emotion—based on "feeling ko lang"—when it is so much more. Love is a commitment. True love is choosing to still be kind, to care, and to understand regardless of whether we are in a poor mood, angry, lazy, sad, anxious, or going through a hard patch. Love outweighs negative emotions and harbors no malice toward others. Love is sacred since it comes from God. God is the source of love, not our families or anyone else—they are just God's vessel to make us feel loved. Indeed, we know how to love because God first loved us (John 13:34–35).
If we do not acknowledge Christ as the source of love, it will be difficult to love others without expecting anything in return. To truly love others, we must grasp the magnitude of Christ's redemptive and redeeming death on the cross.
When God the Father gave us His one and only Son so that we would not perish but live, and Jesus, on the other hand, wholeheartedly laid down His life for the sake of us and mankind's, it was a demonstration of what true love is.
Realize that true love entails sacrificing one's own interest or life for the good of others, just as God the Father and God the Son did.
It's Valentine's Day today, and many individuals worry over what gifts to give to their special someone or where to go on a date. But it would be better if we thought of God on this Valentine's Day and thanked Him for the love (1 John 4:19).
So, this Valentine's Day, I'd like to praise and thank God for L❤VE. I came into being because of His love, and I am still breathing today because of His love. I have my family and friends because of God's love, and I was brought into His flock because of His love. See that it is the love of God (and not the money!) that makes the world go round. It is the love of God that sustains us. God orchestrates everything in our favor because HE loves us unconditionally. Hence, we can say that life is wonderful, and it is nice to be alive because God is love!
In addition, we are supposed to love one another not only in words but more in deeds since God commanded us to.
I pray you'd make Jesus your Valentine today and always.
